Grilled Steak with Tomatoes, Red Onion, and Balsamic


2 # steak

1 1/4 t sea salt

Black pepper (seasoning for taste)

Garlic Powder (seasoning for taste)

1 T olive oil

2 T balsamic vinegar

1/3 c red onion, chopped

3-4 medium tomatoes, chopped, about 3 1/2 c

1 T fresh herbs (oregano, basil, or parsley)


Directions


  1. pierce steak all over with a fork
  2. season steak with 1 1/4 t sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder and set aside for 10 minutes at room temp
  3. in a lg bowl combine onion, olive oil, balsamic, 1/4 t sea salt, and black pepper, let onion sit a few minutes in the mixture to mellow a bit
  4. combine with tomatoes and fresh herbs and adjust salt if needed
  5. heat grill or broil on high heat
  6. cook steak for seven minutes on each side (for medium well) or longer to taste, remove from grill and let it rest on a plate for five minutes before slicing
  7. slice steak thin on a diagonal, top with tomatoes, and serve
