Grilled Steak with Tomatoes, Red Onion, and Balsamic
2 # steak
1 1/4 t sea salt
Black pepper (seasoning for taste)
Garlic Powder (seasoning for taste)
1 T olive oil
2 T balsamic vinegar
1/3 c red onion, chopped
3-4 medium tomatoes, chopped, about 3 1/2 c
1 T fresh herbs (oregano, basil, or parsley)
Directions
- pierce steak all over with a fork
- season steak with 1 1/4 t sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder and set aside for 10 minutes at room temp
- in a lg bowl combine onion, olive oil, balsamic, 1/4 t sea salt, and black pepper, let onion sit a few minutes in the mixture to mellow a bit
- combine with tomatoes and fresh herbs and adjust salt if needed
- heat grill or broil on high heat
- cook steak for seven minutes on each side (for medium well) or longer to taste, remove from grill and let it rest on a plate for five minutes before slicing
- slice steak thin on a diagonal, top with tomatoes, and serve
